WWW.JENNIFEAR.COM The 6 Max

Man am i having one hell of a hard time getting my game off the ground. I am making alot of stupid mistakes like calling big bets on the river. But i have noted this and this will no longer happend unless i have to nutz. My other problem is that i will hit middle or bottom pair on the flop; And then i will fear playing it any futher to the turn to catch two pair are draw to trips.

ANSWER!

Go ahead and test your pair when you hit one. Bet it hard enough to get out hands that dont beat you. Then you know you are beat! If your c-bet fails, its usually time to let it go, unless the board was very draw heavy

QUESTION????

Seems to get me into trouble becuase sometimes i hit top pair with no kicker, and it gets checked down to the river. Then a guy throws out a small bet and i call and lose; And afterwards i kick myself in the ass because i know better.

ANSWER!

well, you do know better... throw out that test bet to find out where you are at... its cheaper to find out on the flop then it is on the river!

QUESTION???

Another problem i have is playing into big pots in an unraised pot preflop; And i know the old saying oh to well never go broke in an unraised pot. I also notice that i get into alot of trouble when there is a rainbow flop. If i limp and bet i get check raised, and if i raise preflop and don't make a continuation bet because of a dangerous board, when i do bet the turn i get into trouble.

ANSWER!

This is because, on rainbow boards, your opponents are not drawing. If they call, they are trapping or have a hand they are unsure about but willing to call with. C-bet most of the time to avoid this.. If they checkraise, then fold. If they bluffed you, nice work them! You will also win a good share of pots that you arent entitled to, so its ok if they get one occasionally!

QUESTION??

These are things that i am trying to correct in my game. I really get pissed late in a sng when the blinds are big and i pick up AK or AQ and miss the flop;I then make a c-bet only to get a caller or check raised. My usual move is to push the turn and win the hand there; But most of the time im just betting into a better hand and it's pissing me off;Becuase i am working so hard on my game.

I have played 900 sng's at the $5.00 level and my ROI is -3 and i am about -$89 in the red. I don't blame this on bad beats or anything i know it's me. I just hate playing a perfect game only to fuck it all up on one hand. Just dumb mistakes. As far as my overall game goes i feel i understand all of the concepts of the game.

ANSWRER!

Okay, well you arent far off then!

Just be the best you can be, and pay more attention, and think before you act. Don't be scared!

You are 4% away from being a winner, and that is a bridge you can cross!

BABALING ON AND ON!!!!!!!!!

QUESTION????

I have all of Harrington's books and i have read them all;But not mastered all of the concepts yet. I don't have his 1st volume right now becuase i lost it in New Orleans last year. But i do have volume 2 and 3 the work book. All 800 games have been at a full table, and i didn't realize how weak my 6max game was until my playing partner,JSB1976 on Stars told me i should start working on them.

So my plan is to play up to 800 of these also and see what happends. And afterwards i will play about the same in HU sng's also;Becuase my HU game really sux. The reason beig is becuase i never have to worry about it until i am in the money. And most of the time i play them so agressive i win anyhow. But i really noticed how bad my HU game was when i started attacking SAT double shootouts on a regular basis.

I always make it to the HU on the 1st table and i catch hell making it to the second table. I always dread the HU play becuase i know i will make it to the final two. I just try to have a big stack to cushion my lack of skill when it's HU and play STACK POKER!

But now my problem is hand selection for these 6max sng's;And i know you have the answers to these questions. I always lay back early during the 10/20-15/30 levels to see who the fuck has a clue and who does not. Also i stick to premium hands during this period. But what exactly is a premium hand when it's 6 handed.

ANSWER!!!

You can't sit around waiting for premiums in a 6-max game. You need to get involved. If you have an ace, or a good king, and it hasnt been opened yet, you should usually be raising!

ANOTHER DUMB QUESTION BY ME????

I just play AA/AK/KK/QQ/JJ/TT/99 and limp in with smaller pairs.

I also play AQ but very carefully limping UTG and raising in late position.

ANSWER!!!

You need to raise this strong hand.

DUH ME????

I have no idea how to play AJ at a short table/KQ or KJ i am clueless LOL..

ANSWER AND A VERY GOOD ONE!!!

KJ, KQ, AJ should all be raised preflop with the exception of KJ utg 6-handed.

Sounds like you are being too tight preflop, remember that it's just like 9-handed when the first 3 people fold.

DUHHHHHHHHHH??????

Also basically all i know about ICM is the big stack vs small stack concept. So i only push the big stack with a pretty solid hand.

Oh yeah as far as Aces go on a short table i am scared as hell to push with A7 A8 ect. But i might push an unopened pot with A9 or AT. But i never do so with any confidence! I just usually play suited aces with position.

ANSWER!!!!!

Go ahead and raise A2 without a second thought if it's folded to you 6-handed, with the only exception being if the BB has a tendency to resteal/reraise w nothing!

QUESTION???

So if you can give some advice so i can start making some real money it will be much appreciated!

ANSWER!!!

Be fast, but be first. and in late position if it's folded to you, raise a wiiiiiiiiide variety of hands!
